DOST- PCIEERD 2018 OUTSTANDING R&D AWARDS ARE NOW OPENS

The Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) is accepting entries to the 2018 Outstanding R&D Awards. It is conducted annually to celebrate and recognize outstanding completed and successful Research and Development (R&D) projects in Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology done in the Philippines by a Filipino individual or group.

The competition is open to all Filipino scientists, researchers, and engineers from universities and colleges, R&D institutions, and private industries doing R&D work in the following 4 categories:

  • Metals & Engineering
  • Chemicals
  • Mining and Minerals
  • Food Processing
  1. Energy, Utilities, & Systems
  • Alternative Sources of Energy
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Transportation
  1. Emerging Technology

  • Genomics/Biotechnology
  • Information & Communications Technology
  • Space Technology Applications
  • Photonics
  • Electronics & Seminconductor

The R&D Project should have been conducted mainly in the Philippines and completed between January 2015 to December 2017. Submission of entries should not be later than January 31, 2018.

———————————————————–CHRDC opens for 2018 RRF Grants

The Caraga Health Research and Development Consortium (CHRDC) is now accepting capsule research proposals from local researchers of State Universities and Colleges(SUCs) in Caraga region for the 2018 Regional Research Fund (RRF) Grants.

Regional Research Fund (RRF) is a grant which provides funding support and capability-building to the researchers to become more actively involved in health research. It aims to promote local scientific studies that can respond to the current health concerns in the region.

The proposed studies should be aligned with the research priority areas of the consortium and/or in National Unified Health Research Agenda. 

The CHRDC Research Priority Areas are the following: Dengue; Respiratory Diseases; Lifestyle Diseases; Climate Change and its impact on health; Environment Health; Endemic and Epidemic Diseases. 

Furthermore, on National Unified Health Research Agenda categories as follows: Health Technology and Development; Health Financing; Health Service Delivery; Social and Environmental Health Concerns.

—————————————————————-2018 Metrobank Foundation for Outstanding Filipino Teachers awards open for nomination

In the strong partnership of the Department of Education (DepEd), with Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) are now opens the nominations for the 2018 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos – Award for Teachers.

On 56th Metrobank’s Anniversary this September. Four teachers will join three soldiers and three police officers to comprise this year’s Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos. Each awardee will receive P1 million cash incentive, a trophy, and a gold medallion.

The Award aims to recognize outstanding Filipinos who are responsible citizens, exemplary public servants, and an inspiration in their respective communities.

Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones acknowledged the vital role of teachers in instilling relevant knowledge in the minds and honing the skills and talents of all learners, which serve as key ingredients for the betterment of the nation. 

The Education chief also seconded the message of MBFI President Aniceto Sobrepeña, that by giving them due recognition, the awardees will inspire the Filipino nation to contribute in realizing and achieving our collective task of building a strong and progressive society.

The Search is open to all Filipino educators teaching in the elementary (including kindergarten level, provided it is part of the integrated curriculum or part of an elementary school system), secondary or tertiary level, including graduate school and alternative learning system, with full-time or permanent appointment and with full teaching load.

Nominees must have an average performance rating of at least “very satisfactory” in the past one decade of teaching and must have completed academic requirements for post graduate with Masteral  Degree.

Winners of local awards organized by provinces and municipalities for outstanding teachers are encouraged to join, provided they met the  eligibility requirements needed.
