AGT AYAW NG DILIMAN DALHIN SA BATAAN
TINANGGIHAN marahil sa mas gusto ng mga mag aaral ng Unibersidad ng Pilipnas ang tradisyunal na UP Ikot na pampasaherong jip kaysa sa makabagong monorail na gawang pinoy. Ito ang sapantaha ng maraming tinanong ng www.diaryongtagalog.net bukod sa katotohanang kapag naging operational ang monorail o Automated Guideway transit (AGT) ay tiyak na mamamatay ang biyahe ng jip sa loob ng pamantasan.
Ang AGT ay isa sa tatlong mahalagang proyekto ng dating kalihim ng DOST Mario Montejo na tanging wala pang nag a adopt. Ayon kay DOST Sec Fortunato T de la Pena sa kanyang talumpati nitong nakaraang Regional Science and Technology Week sa Cordillera Administrative Region (RSTW CAR).
Ayon sa kalihim, may kaunting mga test pa na ginagawa ang Department of Transportation upang tuluyan nang mapa andar sa mga riles ng Philippine National Railways ang DOST Hybrid Train. Ang alupihang bakal na ito ay pinapaandar hindi lang ng Diesel Engine kundi pati rin ng kuryente at 100% pinoy ang gumawa at ang mga miyesa ay lokal.
Ang isa namang tren ay ang Hybrid electric Road Train ay ang parang bus na magkarugtong, ayon kay Sec dela Pena, ang nasabing sasakyan ay malapit nang patakbuhin sa dating tracks ng Panay railways na ginawa ng kalsada ngayon. Ang hybrid electric Road Train ay parang tren dahil magkarugtong ito na parang dalawang bagon kaya lang hindi siya tumatakbo gamit ang riles bagkus ito ay may gulong na goma kaya ang tracks na tatakbuhan nito ay kalsada.
Nakipag usap na ang DOST sa Bataan Peninsula State University sa Balanga Bataan upang duon ilipat ang AGT na nasa UP Diliman at sa DOST Central Office sa Taguig upang mapakinabangan ng kapwa mag aaral at mga residente ng nasabing lugar. BAR, UPLB re-launch EL music video
The Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR), together with Edible Landscaping (EL) team of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB),re-launched the “Tara! Mag Edible Landscaping Na!” music video during the the 14th Agriculture and Fisheries Technology Forum and Product Exhibition (NTF) held at Megatrade Hall 2, SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
Created to promote and disseminate information on EL technology to a wider audience, the music video features the EL techno-demo garden located at the UP Los Baños campus and the different adopters of the technology. The song was composed by Jascha Emmanuel A. Dadap, Von Jelmar P. Herbosa, and Maria Charito E. Balladares.
Since 2010, BAR and UPLB has been working together to promote the EL technology. EL is a new and innovative way of creating attractive and functional spaces while producing safe and nutritious food. This means that vegetables, herbs, medicinal plants, and fruit trees are used to decorate landscapes and garden instead of ornamentals.
Present during the music video re-launching were Dr. Nicomedes P. Eleazar, BAR director, Digna L. Sandoval, BAR OIC-assistant director, Dr. Glenn S. Lubuguin UP Los Baños’ assistant to the vice chancellor for research and extension, and Angel C. Enriquez, OIC-director of the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM).
The EL theme song was performed live by Kyle John Echarri, millennial ambassador of the EL project. Funded by BAR, the EL music video was first launched on 26 August 2017 at Quezon City. ### (Rena S. Hermoso)

Villar, other known personalities visit BAR’s product exhibit
Senator Cynthia Villar, Agriculture and Food Committee chairperson, and other key officials and known personalities visited the 14th Agriculture and Fisheries Technology Forum and Product Exhibition (NTF) held at the Megatrade Hall 2, SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City on August 30-September 2, 2018.
The four-day forum, annually conducted by the BAR through its Technology Commercialization Division, features different products generated from research and development (R&D). It aims to hasten the promotion and commercialization of agri-fishery R&D products and technologies. The forum was participated in by 92 exhibitors including Department of Agriculture (DA) regional field offices, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources regional offices, DA attached agencies and bureaus, state universities and colleges, international organizations, and other partner institutions.
Key officials who visited the forum included Hon. Evelina G. Escudero, Sorsogon, first district representative; Cecilia Barbara L. Reyes, committee secretary of the Special Committee on East ASEAN Growth Area, House of Representatives; Dr. Nicomedes P. Eleazar, Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) director; Angel C. Enriquez, Bureau of Soils and Water Management director; and Dr. Jiweon Lee, Korea’s Rural Development Administration-Technology Cooperation Bureau director general.
Other known personalities who visited the forum were Dr. William Dar, Inang Lupa Movement, Inc. president and former Department of Agriculture secretary; Ramon B.
