ALS 1st Development Partners’ Coordination Forum- DepEd

PASIG CITY, July 24, 2017 –“We added it [digital literacy] to the new curriculum of ALS because we want our learners to be able to avail of the exits of K to 12—which are entrepreneurship, employment, higher education, and middle-level skills development.” Ayon kay ALS Asec Ambat.

 Ang Kagawaran ng Edukasyon (DepEd), sa pamamagitan ng  Project Management Service (PMS), ay nagsagawa ng Development Partners Coordination Forum para sa Alternative Learning System (ALS) nitong nakaraan Hulyo 20 at 21, 2017 sa Oakwood Premier Joy~Nostalg Center Manila, Ortigas, Pasig City.

Ang ALS forum ay una sa mga  coordination forum na isinagawa ng DepEd sa kolaborasyon sa pribafong sektor, lokal at internasyunal na organisasyon at local government units (LGUs).

 “Your presence in this very first Development Partners’ Coordination Forum, despite the gloomy weather today, manifests your commitment to our learners, both young and adult, as well as your support with DepEd in fulfilling every Filipino’s right to education.” pahayag ni Assistant Secretary Revsee Escobedo.

 Ang Development partner na kinataean ng mga sumusunod; CitySavings Bank, Global Peace Foundation, Plan International, E-Net Philippines, Asian Development Bank (ADB), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), at Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology (SEAMEO INNOTECH).

Naroon din ang Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), German Development Cooperation (GIZ), Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), at LGUs  na aktibong nagbigay ng mga mungkahi sa 2 araw na coordination forum para sa ikakaganda ng programang ALS.

Kaugnay nito ang mga opisyales ng DepEd na sina; Undersecretary Alain Del Pascua; Assistant Secretaries G.H. Ambat, Nepomuceno Malaluan and Tonisito Umali; Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Assistant Secretary Marjuni Maddi; DepEd Bureau at mga Regional Directors.

Public Affairs Service (PAS) at ALS ASec. Ambat na nag ambag ng mga kaganapang reporma sa programang ALS lalo na ang paghanay ng K to 13 sa ALS Curriculum.

Programang Bangkarunungan: Inobasyon sa pagtuturo sa Karagatan

 Sinimulan ang Programang Bangkarunungan nitong Hulyo 5, 2017 sa Malalag District’s sa 34 ALS na mag aaral sa unang batch na mga illiterate at hindi nakatapos ng basic education.

 Ang Alternative Learning System (ALS) ay sinuyod ang Malalag District sa Davao del Sur  sa pamamagitan ng floating community learning center (CLC) para sa  out-of-school youth (OSY) at mga may edad na mangingisda sa Malalag Bay. 

“Just like Noah’s Ark that saved lives, ang floating learning center na ito is also about salvation – ALS is about saving lives,” saad ni Direktor Atty. Alberto Escobarte ng DepEd Region 11.

 “They actively participated in my class. Although they have different skills and educational backgrounds, they are all eager to learn,” pahayag ni Dr. Eric Tubat, Public Schools District Supervisor,

Kada araw ng Miyerkules at Huwebes pagkatapis ng pagpapakain ng bangus ang klase. Ang bangka na inilaan ng local government unit (LGU) ay ginagamit na transportasyon ng ALS Instructional Managers ( IMs) na magsisilbing Community Learning Center (CLC).

Tuwing araw naman ng Lunes at Martes sa baybayin Sitio Bulo ang bangka ay ginagamit na floating library na may mga libro, modules at kagamitan sa pagtuturo. Nagsasagawa rin ng pagbabasa sa mga mag aaral.

Ang ALS implementers, pinangungunahan ni ALS Davao del Sur Supervisor Dr. Helen Arancon, Malalag LGU Mayor Peter Paul Valentin, Philippine Coast Guard, at port authority ay nagpamalas ng patuloy na suporta sa programang ALS. ( Mj Olvina- Balaguer, +639053611058, maryjaneolvina@gmail.com)

DepEd tiniyak na nakahanay ang ALS sa K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum

PASIG CITY, July 19, 2017 – Tiniyak na ang Alternative Learning System (ALS) curriculum ay nakahanay sa Programang K to 12 upang makapagbigay ng oportunidad at pagkakataon na matuto ang out-of-school youth (OSY) at may mga edad na mapaburi ang antas ng kabuhayan na epektibong kontribusyon ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon ( DepEd) sa lipunan sa pamamagitan ng Bureau of Curriculum Development (BCD)na naglungsad lng ALS K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum.

 “We are true to our mandate that no learner [will be] left behind. With this new curriculum, we hope that the ALS learners would have the same quality of education that would avail them of the four exits of K to 12: higher education, employment, entrepreneurship, or middle level skills development” ayon kay DepEd Assistant Secretary ng Public Affairs Service at ALS G.H Ambat

Pinaliwanag din ni BCD Director Jocelyn Andaya na umabot ng dalawang taon ang rebisyon sa kurikulom gayundin ang former office na naghahahawak ng programang Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS), ito rin ay dumaan sa masusing pagrerebisa at konsultastob at mga workshops sa mga eksperto sa kurikulom sa pormal at non pormal na edukasyon sa loob at labas ng DepEd nag hindi na ituring ang maling nosyon na “inferior curriculum” ang ALS.
