OFFICIALS of the Bocaue Tennis Club in Bulacan questions the legality of documents presented by a land grabbing individual wanting to take apart of their town’s sports heritage as interviewed by www.diaryongtagalog.net and DZRJ 810 Khz. AM yesterday July 15, 2015 at Bgy. Bagumbayan in Bocaue, Bulacan.

According to Mr. Ding Cotaco, President of the Bocaue Tennis Club  Mrs. Teresita Madulid, wife of one of their members at the Bocaue Tennis Club has no legal rights to take apart or any part of the historic Bocaue Tennis Club situated in this barangay at the back of the Bocaue Central School.

Madulid alleged that part of the land where the tennis court is currently situated belongs to her and she has to secure her property by having it fenced so she applied for a fencing permit at the Bocaue Local Government Unit where she was denied of her application due to lack of sufficient evidence that the said property really belongs to her.

“What we need for her to do is to furnish the authentic documents stating that she really owns the property because right now, I don’t think she has that kind of documents” Cotaco and another officer of the club said in a media interview conducted by both www.diaryongtagalog.net and DZRJ 810 Khz.

In another story related to it on an interview with another source in the Tennis Club, Mrs. Madulid applied for a building permit but instead of constructing the proposed clubhouse inside the court that is the reason for securing a building permit, she allegedly brought goons and put up fences with barb wires at the Bocaue Tennis Court which is a government property owned by the Municipal Government of Bocaue.

In an official correspondence answered by the Bocaue Municipal Administrator Atty. Virginia S. Jose to Mrs. Teresita Madulid dated July 15, 2015 she reiterated that the fencing permit and building permit on the property infringing the Bocaue Tennis Court will not be granted because the Court is a government property therefore a cease and desist order is thereby imposed suspending all construction on the premises and police presence is currently posted at the vicinity of the court.

The tennis court is an integral part of Bocaue and Bulacan’s sports heritage because it is the only Tennis Court in the province to host the Bulacan Private Schools Association (BULPRISA) and Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA), Schools either elementary, High School or College and even Tennis Aficionado’s all over the province come to practice and compete in the Bocaue Tennis Court and some apply for membership at the Bocaue Tennis Club the reason why the officials of the club are very eager to prevent anyone trying to suppress their rights to play the game in the said court moreover to take away the court through illegal means.

The Bocaue Tennis Club officers exhaust all possible means to contact the Avendanos from Plaridel but to no avail so Cotaco and the rest of the officers with the Bocaue LGU is spearheading the fight to preserve the right of Bocauenos to play tennis at the Bocaue Tennis Court. /// written by Michael Balaguer with details from CLMABC Photojournalist Bernie “Kojack” Manansala and Broadcaster MJ “jane olvina” Balaguer

Balaguer
