
THE Department of Science and Technology Region 4B (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) spearheaded by its hardworking Regional Director Dr. Ma. Josefina P. Abilay conducted a webinar regarding the experiences of regions provinces and municipalities in coping up with the COVID-19 pandemic and in relation to the Universal Health care.
Sa pakikipagtulungan ng Institute of Philippine Culture (IPC), School of Social Sciences, Ateneo de Manila, Philippine Council for Health Research and Development ng Department of Science and Technology (PCHRD-DOST) at mga pamahalaang lokal ng ng Odiongan, Romblon at Marinduque matagumpay na naisakatuparan ang webinar nitong September 22, 2020 12:00 ng tanghali.
Geared towards the theme” Universal Health Care and its Transformations: The MIMAROPA Experience in the COVID-19 Pandemic” the activity highlights the experiences of the Province of Marinduque and the Municipality of Odiongan in Romblon in coping up with the corona virus and how the DOST MIMAROPA aide in the science-based solutions.
Kabilang sa mga nakibahagi bilang mga tagapagsalita ay sina Marinduque Governor Presbitero J. Velasco Jr.at Trina Alejandra A. Firmalo-Fabic, Mayor ng Odiongan, Romblon at Dr. Enrique Nino P. Leviste, Director ng IPC bilang facilitator. Kasama sa mga naging katanungan ng mga nakibahagi sa webinar ay ang kalagayan ng ekonomiya, turismo, transportasyon at ang pagpasok ng mga LSI’s o locally stranded individuals, mga residenteng buhat sa ibang lugar.
Governor Velasco says that the DOST MIMAROPA has helped a lot in through science-based interventions in combating the corona virus such as the telehealth of the PCHRD. Coral Restoration projects in MIMAROPA and the Solar Powered Pump for water are among the interventions of the DOST Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) in the region.
Samantala patuloy naman ang pagbabantay sa mga papasok sa bayan ng Odiongan mula pa lamang sa Batangas port upang matiyak na hindi makapagdadala ang mga ito ng COVID sa bayan ang pangangailangang i-prosesong dokument na ini atas ng Inter Agency Task Force on COVID-19 ang nasusunod sa mga nais magtngo sa kanilang bayan sagot ni Mayor Trina Alejandra A. Firmalo-Fabic
